Job summary

Hennepin Healthcare in Minnesota seeks a Physical Therapist Assistant to join our team. This full-time role will work days (Monday to Friday 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM).

Must be willing to work at multiple clinic locations. Purpose of this position: Under the general direction of the Physical Therapy Supervisor, provides physical therapy services to patients following the plan of care established by a physical therapist.

Qualifications

• Completion of an AA degree in Physical Therapist Assistant (APTA approved).
• Two years’ experience with a varied patient population preferred.
• Proficiency using computer systems including Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Provide physical therapy services under the supervision of a PT and in collaboration with the team.
• Observe and report patient responses to the PT.
• Apply rehabilitative equipment and participate in discharge planning and education.
• Assist with orientation and PTA student education activities.
• Document and charge for services per department standards.

SUMMARY

We are currently seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant to join our team. This fulltime role will work days (Monday to Friday 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM). Must be willing to work at multiple clinic locations. Purpose of this position: Under the general direction of the Physical Therapy Supervisor, provides physical therapy services to patients following the plan of care established by a physical therapist.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Under the direction and supervision of the physical therapist and in collaboration with an interdisciplinary team, provides physical therapy services including treatment, discharge planning and education
• Observes and reports the patient's responses to the physical therapist
• Properly applies and operates rehabilitive equipment
• Assists with department orientation as assigned
• Assists physical therapist with PTA student education activities
• Delegates appropriate activities to nursing assistants consistent with their training and skill (patient transfers, patient transport, and assisting therapist directly with care) under the direction and supervision of a physical therapist
• Educates patients and care givers based on established care plan
• Performs clerical task as delegated
• Completes all documentation and charges of services per departmental standard

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Qualifications:

• Completion of a two year program (AA Degree) for Physical Therapist Assistant approved by the American Physical Therapy Association

Preferred Qualifications:

• Two years’ experience with a varied patient population

Knowledge/ Skills/ Abilities:

• Ability to use a computer system, including Microsoft Office Products
• Ability to work with a diverse range of patients

License/Certifications:

Possession of valid Physical Therapy Assistant license issued by the Minnesota Board of Physical Therapy
