Job summary

Prime Healthcare is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant to support patient care at Providence Medical Center in Kansas City, KS. The role involves working under a physical therapist to deliver targeted rehabilitation services on a day shift in a per diem/PRN capacity.

The PTA will assist with exercises, to educate patients and families, and to document progress while ensuring compliance with all guidelines and regulations. PRN status allows flexible scheduling across weekdays and weekends.

Qualifications

• Must have an Associate Degree from an accredited PTA program.
• Current licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant in the state.
• BCLS (AHA) certification upon hire and maintain current.

Responsibilities

• Assist physical therapists with patient care, including exercises, manual therapy, and modalities as directed.
• Educate patients and families on home exercise programs to support recovery.
• Document patient responses and progress and communicate with the PT to adjust treatment.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to meet each patient’s needs efficiently.

Hours: 8-hour shift ( Weekday and Weekend Shift Available)

Location: Providence Medical Center- Kansas City, KS

A Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) plays a crucial role in healthcare by supporting physical therapists in delivering patient-centered care. PTAs work in various settings, such as hospitals, rehabilitation centers, outpatient clinics, or private practices. PTAs aid in improving patient mobility, relieving pain, and preventing or limiting permanent disabilities by executing rehabilitation programs tailored to each patient’s needs.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but is not limited to):

• Execute components of patient care, including exercises, manual therapy, and modalities like ultrasound or electrical stimulation, as directed by the physical therapist.
• Teach patients and their families exercises to be continued at home, ensuring understanding and compliance to promote recovery.
• Observe and document patient responses and progress toward goals, adjusting treatments as necessary and reporting back to the physical therapist.
• Work closely with physical therapists and other healthcare professionals to ensure that each patient’s specific needs are met efficiently and effectively.
• Maintain accurate and comprehensive patient records, schedule appointments, and ensure compliance with all guidelines and regulations.

Qualifications
