Amberwell Health in Hiawatha, KS is seeking a Physical Therapy Assistant to join our rehabilitation team on a PRN basis (as needed, no set schedule). You will support testing, patient flow, and basic evaluations in a busy clinic.

Responsibilities include performing preemployment and post-accident testing, assisting with in-office procedures, educating patients, documenting daily in the EMR, and coordinating with physicians and employers to ensure smooth care delivery.

Qualifications

  • Physical Therapy Assistant with an Associate Degree is required.
  • Preferred: Two to three years clinical experience.
  • Licensure: Kansas State Board of Healing Arts Physical Therapy Assistant license or eligible.

Responsibilities

  • Perform testing as part of preemployment, post-accident and annual testing.
  • Train to perform strength testing, breath alcohol, DOT/BAT collections, audiometer, spirometry testing.
  • Greet customers, answer phones, communicate with patients and employers.
  • Be certified to perform urine collections and breath alcohol testing.
  • Assist physician in in-office procedures including joint injections, drainage of fluid, ultrasound guidance.
  • Document daily in the EMR to ensure charges flow.
  • Educate patients including crutch training, splint application, brace application.
  • Assist in donning and doffing casting applications.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
  • Physical therapy assistant performs testing as part of preemployment, post-accident and annual testing.
  • Physical therapy assistant will be trained to perform strength testing for post offer purposes, breath alcohol, drug Screen collections, audiometer, respirator fit testing and spirometry testing.
  • Physical therapy assistant will assist in the flow of the clinic by greeting customers, answering phones, communicating with patients and employers.
  • Physical therapy assistant will be certified to perform urine collections and breath alcohol testing for both DOT and NON DOT standards.
  • Will be knowledgeable of the post offer physical process and will play a significant role in the testing of the patient.
  • Will provide medical assistance to the physician during workers compensation care and sports medicine patients.
  • Will document on the services and complete documentation on a daily basis so charges can flow within the EMR system.
Position Description
