Job summary

Trevida Healthcare is seeking a dedicated Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our care-focused team. You will assist licensed Physical Therapists in assessments, plan development, and implementing treatment to promote mobility and independence for residents in our long-term care setting.

You’ll monitor progress, document results, and collaborate with the rehabilitation team to ensure comprehensive, compassionate care.

Qualifications

  • Must hold an Ohio PTA license/certification.
  • Experience in long-term care or rehabilitation is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist licensed Physical Therapists with patient assessments, development of treatment plans, and implementation of interventions
  • Conduct physical therapy treatments, including exercises and modalities as prescribed by the PT
  • Monitor and record patient progress, reporting changes to the PT
  • Maintain accurate patient records and collaborate with the rehab team
  • Participate in staff training and stay current with best practices

About the Role:

As a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA), you will work under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist to design and implement individualized treatment plans for our residents. Your expertise will focus on promoting independence, improving mobility, and enhancing overall well-being. Our facility offers a unique environment where you can grow professionally, develop your skills, and make a meaningful difference in the lives of our residents.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist licensed Physical Therapists with patient assessments, development of treatment plans, and implementation of interventions
  • Conduct physical therapy treatments, including exercises, modalities, and other interventions as prescribed by the Physical Therapist
  • Monitor and record patient progress, reporting changes and concerns to the Physical Therapist
  • Maintain accurate and thorough patient records, adhering to facility policies and procedures
  • Collaborate with the rehabilitation team to ensure comprehensive care and effective communication
  • Participate in staff training and education programs to stay current with best practices and industry developments
Requirements:
  • Associate's degree in Physical Therapist Assistant or related field
  • Successful completion of a PTA program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE)
  • Current licensure or certification as a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) in Ohio
  • Prior experience in long-term care or rehabilitation setting (not required but preferred)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members
  • Ability to lift, transfer, and move patients, with or without assistance, as needed
