Job summary

Prosper Health & Rehab is seeking a licensed Physical Therapy Assistant in Florida to provide direct patient care under the supervision of a Physical Therapist. The role includes documenting treatments, tracking patient progress, and applying therapeutic techniques tailored to each patient’s age and condition.

The successful candidate will perform treatment programs, assess patient status, and help patients understand home exercise programs while adhering to state regulations and facility

Qualifications

  • Requires an Associate Degree in Physical Therapy and active PTA license in the state of practice.
  • CPR and First Aid certification required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience.
  • Employment contingent on Florida AHCA Level 2 background screening.

Responsibilities

  • Administer treatment programs as established by Physical Therapists.
  • Provide high-quality therapy to achieve patient outcomes.
  • Assess patient condition using basic biological and medical knowledge.
  • Propose and contribute to treatment goals and objectives.
  • Implement treatment plans with guidance from the Physical Therapist.
  • Perform patient evaluation and interventions as needed.
  • Instruct patients on PT interventions, modalities, and home exercise programs.

Job description

OVERVIEW:

Physical Therapy Assistant to provide direct patient care services under the direction and supervision of a Physical Therapist. The Physical Therapy Assistant will be responsible for documenting patient treatments, changes in condition and other pertinent information as required. The successful candidate will also provide treatment and appropriate therapeutic techniques specific to the age and condition of each patient.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Administer treatment programs as established by Physical Therapists
  • Focus on providing the highest quality treatment for patients that allows for excellent patient outcomes
  • Assess patient condition using knowledge of basic biological and medical science
  • Propose treatment goals and objectives
  • Implement patient treatment plans with guidance from the Physical Therapist
  • Perform certain aspects of patient evaluation and interventions
  • Instruct patients on physical therapy interventions, modalities and home exercise programs
Requirements

Employment is contingent uponsuccessful completionof a Florida AHCA Level 2 background screeningi in accordancewith state regulations.

QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
  • Associate Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program
  • Valid PTA license in state of practice
  • Current CPR and first aid certification
  • 3+ years' clinical experience
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
  • This job operates in a health care setting. This role requires regular walking to various locations around the care center.
  • Incumbent may be exposed to virus, disease and infection from patients and specimens in working environment.
  • Incumbent may be required to work extended periods of time at a video display terminal.
  • Incumbent may experience traumatic situations, including psychiatric, and deceased patients.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
  • This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling and climbing all day.
  • The employee must frequently lift or move objects and patients weighing over 50 pounds.
