Job summary

Palms Home Care is seeking a dedicated Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our healthcare team in Ocala, Florida. The PTA will work under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in home health and clinic settings.

The ideal candidate will hold an active Florida PTA license, an associate degree, and a solid understanding of anatomy and medical terminology.

Qualifications

• Licensed PTA in Florida.
• Associate degree in PTA completed and acknowledged by a state board.
• Solid understanding of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
• Home health experience preferred and beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Implement treatment plans designed by the supervising Physical Therapist.
• Administer therapeutic exercises and modalities for geriatrics, orthopedics, pediatrics, outpatient, and acute care.
• Observe, assess, and document patient responses and progress and report changes to the PT.
• Educate patients and families on home exercise programs and safety precautions.
• Maintain accurate progress notes and documentation.
• Collaborate with RNs, PTs, OTs, and Speech Therapists to ensure coordinated care.
• Promote a safe, clean, and supportive environment for patients.

Key Responsibilities

• Promote and maintain a safe, clean, and supportive environment for all patients.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Physical Therapist Assisting or equivalent education and experience.
• Current state licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
• Solid understanding of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
• Experience in home health, preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
• Ability to work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary care team.
