Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• BLS certification or equivalent within the first three months from date of hire is required.
• Prior patient care experience is required.
• Ability to communicate effectively is required.

Responsibilities

• Assists Physical Therapists in treatment of patients.
• Prepares patients for treatment as directed.
• Transports patients to and from the department.
• Assists patients in dressing and undressing.
• Assembles and places equipment and supplies for use.
• Places patients in position for treatment and assists in transfers.
• Assists with paraffin treatments, hot packs, whirlpool, Hubbard tank, and ambulation support.
• Assists patients to bathroom.
• Assists professional staff in ordering supplies and maintains linen closet.
• Maintains equipment and working area in clean and orderly condition.
• Performs duties essential to department operations (e.g., taking messages, messenger duties, attending in-service).
• Transports equipment and supplies weighing up to 50 pounds as necessary.
• Assists O.T workshop as required.
• Performs related duties as required.
