Job summary

Northwell Health in New York is seeking a Therapy Aide to support the therapy department by preparing patients for treatment, assisting therapists, and maintaining a neat, orderly workspace.

You will transport patients by stretcher or wheelchair, assist with transfers, help order supplies, and perform basic data entry and messenger tasks. A high school diploma and 0–1 year of relevant experience are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 0-1 years of relevant experience, required.

Responsibilities

• Prepares patients for treatment by therapist; assists therapists during therapy.
• Transports patients independently to and from department using stretcher or wheelchair.
• Maintains equipment and working area in clean, orderly condition.
• Assists professional staff in ordering supplies; orders linens and maintains linen closet in a neat and orderly condition.
• Places patients in position for treatment and assists in transfers.
• Assembles and places equipment and supplies for use.
• Performs a variety of duties essential to the function of the department such as taking messages, entering and retrieving basic information into/from computer, performing messenger duties, etc.
• Transports equipment and supplies.
• Assists in workshops, as required.
