Job summary

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma.
• Pre-Physical Therapy coursework or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
• Personable, energetic, and capable of working with a diverse patient population and in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Direct ambulatory patients to and from treatment areas, including wheelchair users.
• Confer with physical therapy staff for planning, modifying, and coordinating treatment.
• Instruct patients performing therapeutic exercises and activities under therapist direction.
• Record treatment provided and equipment used; fit/position patients on equipment.
• Observe patient responses and progress and report to the physical therapist.
• Safely administer modalities (electrical/micro current stimulation, ultrasound, cold laser, ice/heat).
• Assist hand therapist with splint making and hand therapy exercises.
• Perform opening/closing duties for the clinic and maintain cleanliness.
• Maintain clinic equipment and furniture; perform assembly/disassembly of equipment.
• Change linens and restock rooms; perform basic clerical duties (phone, messages, forms).
