Job summary

Metro Physical & Aquatic Therapy is a multidisciplinary clinic offering physical, occupational, speech therapy, massage and acupuncture services. Immediate openings exist for Physical Therapist Aides to join a growing, collaborative team in a state-of-the-art facility.

You will support therapists by preparing treatments, assisting patients through exercises, and handling front desk tasks while maintaining safety and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Must be able to cover 15-20 minutes from home office with own transportation to and from work.
• Knowledge of Anatomy & Kinesiology.
• Knowledge of therapy equipment.
• Knowledge of patient behavior and needs.
• Knowledge of proper strengthening techniques.
• Knowledge of restraints and aggressive behavior management practices.
• Ability to successfully complete in-service training.
• Ability to observe, evaluate, and record conditions, reactions, and changes in patients' physical condition.
• Ability to maintain appropriate attitude and conduct necessary to the welfare of patients.
• Ability to create and maintain records and write brief reports.
• Ability to communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Scribe for recording and editing therapeutic exercises under supervision of a Doctor of Physical Therapy or Occupational Therapy.
• Prepare heat and ice packs, paraffin dips, assist patients to the pool, guide to equipment, monitor exertion, and lead prescribed exercises.
• Ensure operation of treatment equipment by performing preventive maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Educate patients by demonstrating proper use of equipment and exercises.
• Prepare the treatment room and assist patients into therapy sessions.
• Provide information to patients and answer questions; help alleviate fears.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and safe operations; comply with procedures and regulations.
• Provide sterilized equipment and supplies to the treatment area; position equipment and patients.
• Prepare the treatment room and assist with scheduling; answer calls professionally.
• Answer calls from physicians, hospitals, and patients with exemplary customer service.
• Maintain inventory and place orders for supplies as needed.
• Provide front desk coverage and assist with scheduling; perform related duties.
