Joseph/Niles locations, with shifts mainly on Saturdays and Sundays, and at least one summer and one winter holiday weekend. Responsibilities include evaluating patients, planning and administering PT treatments, documenting care, and coordinating with the rehab team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in physical therapy from an accredited program (APTA).
• Licensed Physical Therapist in Michigan.
• BLS certification (AHA or Red Cross).

• Perform thorough evaluation of referred patients to determine rehab potential and establish a treatment plan.
• Administer physical therapy treatments to maximize function and achieve goals.
• Maintain accurate documentation and communicate progress to referring physicians.
• Commit to professional growth and maintain competency to ensure quality care.
• Contribute to efficient rehab service operations.
• Maintain effective communication with rehab team regarding programs.

Corewell Health is offering up to $15,000 in sign on bonuses for this opportunity!

Weekend Position consisting of working 46 out of 52 weekends in Corewell Health South Medical Center, Saint Joseph and Niles locations, as the need arises. The weekend is defined as shifts between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. on Saturday & Sunday. However, specific times may vary according to location and need. Position includes working at least one summer and one winter Holiday weekend.

Assess, plan, organize, administer, document and evaluate direct physical therapy patient care in accordance with accepted physical therapy practice and the physician’s overall treatment plan.

Essential Functions

• Perform a thorough and complete evaluation of patients properly referred according to Michigan law in order to determine the patient’s rehab potential and establish an individually based treatment plan.
• Administer physical therapy treatments to patients according to professional standards and department standard operating procedure in order to maximize the patient’s potential functioning level and to achieve treatment goals set in coordination with patient/family, physician and other team members.
• Maintain and complete accurate documentation, department records and reports for all assigned patients in order to provide a clear record and to communicate patient’s treatment plan and progress to the referring physician.
• Maintain commitment to professional growth and competency to ensure the quality of care.
• Contribute to the efficient and productive operation of the rehab services.
• Maintain effective communication with other members of the rehab team regarding physical therapy programs to ensure understanding and better patient care.
