SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, NY is seeking a licensed Physical Therapist for weekend coverage to evaluate patients, set goals and implement evidence-based treatment plans, collaborating with physicians, other health care providers and families. The role includes supervising PTAs and weekend students, preparing timely patient care documentation, and assisting in training new staff.

Job Summary:

The Physical Therapist-Weekend is responsible for evaluating patients, formulating specific treatment goals, developing and implementing treatment plans, and collaborating with other health care providers and families. Provide quality and evidence-based treatments to
patient populations including but not limited to Stroke, Orthopedics, TBI, Trauma. Prepare and maintain patient care documentation in a timely manner. Provide supervision to PTAs and weekend students. Assist in the training of new staff members.

Minimum Qualifications:

NYS licensed & registered Physical Therapist, degree required for licensure, and two years of eligible experience required.

Candidates who possess degree required for licensure, NYS PT license/registration or Limited Permit or eligible and less than 2 years experience will be considered for appointment to an entry-level (SL2) position at commensurate salary.

CPR-BLS certification required at time of appointment.

Preferred Qualifications:

2 Years of experience preferred.

Work Days:

Must be available to work at least two weekend days a month, day shift.
