SUNY Upstate Medical University is seeking a licensed Physical Therapist to evaluate patients, set treatment goals, and design comprehensive treatment plans. The role involves collaboration with a wide care team, documentation, and participation in rounds and educational activities.
Qualified candidates hold a NYS PT license, CPR-BLS certification, and a degree required for licensure, with eligibility for up to two years of experience. An entry-level pathway is available with commensurate salary.
The Physical Therapist is responsible for evaluating patients, formulating specific treatment goals, developing and implementing treatment plans, and collaborating with other health care providers and families. Prepare and maintain patient care documentation in a timely manner. Attend designated clinics, rounds, and conferences. Participate in educational programs for staff, students, volunteers, and other professional health care personnel. Participate in training for new staff. Serve as a clinical instructor for students. Facilitate new program development.
Patient populations may include individuals with orthopedic, neurologic, oncology, vestibular, lymphedema, pelvic health, and other rehabilitation needs. Patient populations include adult and pediatric, depending on departmental and clinical service needs.
NYS licensed & registered Physical Therapist, degree required for licensure, and two years of eligible experience required.
Candidates who possess degree required for licensure, NYS PT license/registration or Limited Permit or eligible and less than 2 years experience will be considered for appointment to an entry-level (SL2) position at commensurate salary.
CPR-BLS certification required at time of appointment.
2 Years of experience preferred.
Monday - Friday with weekends and holidays on a rotational basis.
