Essential Functions of the Physical Therapist Technician Role:

• Prepare and sanitize treatment room for the patients.
• Understand the uses of stationary bikes, pulley systems, exercise/medicine balls, plyometric boxes, rebounder, weight equipment, mobilization tables and benches, and progressive resistive exercises as designed by the Physical Therapist.
• Prepare equipment such as hydrotherapy tanks, paraffin bath, and hot packs.
• Remove and replace braces, splints, and slings from patient bodies before and after treatment.
• Assist physical therapy assistant and/or physical therapist to support patient during ambulation and gait training.
• Communicate effectively with patients/clients, the public, and all members of the healthcare team.

Experience and Skills Required for the Physical Therapist Technician Position:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
