Responsibilities

Essential Functions of the Physical Therapist Technician Role:

1. Prepare and sanitize treatment rooms for patients.
2. Understand the use of stationary bikes, pulley systems, exercise/medicine balls, plyometric boxes, rebounder, weight equipment, mobilization tables, benches, and progressive resistive exercises as designed by the Physical Therapist.
3. Prepare equipment such as hydrotherapy tanks, paraffin baths, and hot packs.
4. Remove and replace braces, splints, and slings from patients before and after treatment.
5. Assist physical therapy assistants and/or physical therapists in supporting patients during ambulation and gait training.
6. Communicate effectively with patients/clients, the public, and all members of the healthcare team.

Qualifications

Experience and Skills Required:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
