Description: Duke Raleigh Hospital is currently seeking applicants for an open physical therapy position, to be filled by candidates dual credentialed in physical therapy and athletic training or those who are board certified in sports. New hires are responsible for a 40-hour work week consisting of 25-30 hours of physical therapy services in an outpatient ambulatory setting and 10-15 hours of high school/community outreach services, including sport event coverage, in communities surrounding Raleigh, NC. Weekend PRN coverage for supplemental pay is strongly encouraged. Applicants need to be eligible for a North Carolina physical therapy license and be a certified/licensed athletic trainer or board certified in sports.

Summary of Responsibilities

• Provide physical therapy services to patients/clients with impairments, functional limitations, disabilities, or changes in physical function and health status resulting from injury, disease, or other causes.
• Participate in patient education, wellness services, and community outreach activities.
• Collaborate with patients and families to create and update plans of care, set goals, and establish discharge plans.
• Work within practice guidelines as defined by North Carolina state law.

Work Performed

• Demonstrate clinical reasoning in evaluation, diagnosis, and care planning.
• Adjust treatment plans based on patient progress and response.
• Educate patients and caregivers, ensuring understanding of treatment and follow-up care.
• Document all care accurately and efficiently.
• Participate in outreach, research, and educational activities as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in physical therapy or equivalent; Master's or Clinical Doctorate preferred.
• Current North Carolina Physical Therapist license.
• Preferred: ABPTS Board Certified in Sports (SCS) and/or Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC).

Physical Requirements

Ability to push, pull, lift, carry, and transfer patients as needed.
