Job summary

Sigma Health Rehab is seeking a Full-time Physical Therapist (PT) to join our skilled nursing facility team in New York. We offer a $7,000 sign-on bonus and comprehensive benefits.

The ideal candidate will be licensed in New York and have a background in geriatric rehab, with new grads welcome if fieldwork is relevant. Responsibilities include evaluating residents, creating rehab plans, guiding therapies, supervising assistants, and ensuring confidentiality and compliance with laws.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Program.
• Current New York State PT License.
• Experience in a skilled nursing or geriatric care setting preferred; new grads encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate residents' conditions and develop rehabilitation plans.
• Relieve residents' pain using exercises, hands-on therapy and stretching.
• Guide residents through tasks and monitor performance.
• Supervise the activities of physical therapy assistants.
• Maintain resident confidentiality and comply with legal requirements.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure quality care.

PT Requirements Include:

• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Program

• Current New York State PT License

• Experience in a skilled nursing or geriatric care setting is preferred, but new graduates with relevant fieldwork experience are encouraged to apply

Key Responsibilities Include:

• Evaluate residents’ conditions & develop appropriate physical rehabilitation plans

• Relieve resident’s pain using exercises, hands-on therapy & stretching

• Help residents through their tasks and monitor their performance

• Supervise the activities of physical therapy assistants

• Maintain resident confidence & protects facility by keeping information confidential

• Complies with federal, state, and local legal and professional requirements

• Maintains a cooperative relationship among healthcare team members
