Responsibilities

• Evaluate and conduct medically prescribed physical therapy treatment programs.

• Perform therapy interventions utilizing standard techniques.
• Direct and supervise physical therapy assistants and other support personnel.
• Administer treatment involving physical agents and equipment.
• Evaluate, fit, and adjust prosthetic and orthotic devices.
• Identify and document goals and plans for reevaluation.

How You'll Contribute

• Evaluate and conduct medically prescribed physical therapy treatment programs; provide educational information to patients regarding injury prevention, ergonomics, restorative therapy, and rehabilitation therapy.
• Supervise physical therapy assistants and aid in performing treatment; conduct initial and ongoing assessments of patient condition.
• Establish a plan of care appropriate to identified problems and involve the patient according to his or her capabilities and desires.
• Plan, prepare, and carry out individually designed programs of physical treatment to maintain, improve, or restore physical functioning, alleviate pain, and prevent physical dysfunction.
• Perform therapy interventions utilizing standard physical therapy techniques and skills appropriate for the age and condition of the patient.
• Direct and supervise physical therapy assistants, students, and other support personnel; assess competence, delegate specific tasks, and establish communication channels.
• Administer treatment involving physical agents, equipment, moist packs, ultraviolet and infrared lamps, and ultrasound machines.
• Evaluate, fit, and adjust prosthetic and orthotic devices and recommend modifications.
• Identify and document goals, anticipated progress, and plans for reevaluation.
