MedStar Health is looking for a Physical Therapist to join our team at Therapy - Leisure World! The ideal candidate will be a licensed physical therapist with professional competency as a general practitioner in physical therapy; demonstrate varied evaluation and treatment approaches; possess customer service skills for interacting with patients, including communicating with patients and family members of diverse ages and backgrounds; and have effective communication skills.
Provide physical therapy services including screening, evaluation, treatment planning, treatment implementation, re-assessment, discharge planning, and documentation across various settings. Participate in program planning and protocol development to meet team goals.
Conduct evaluation services, review historical information, perform assessments, and communicate findings and treatment plans to patients and families, involving them in goal setting.
Implement treatment protocols proficiently based on evaluation results and patient presentation. Consult with healthcare professionals as needed, recognize changes in patient conditions, and modify plans of care accordingly.
Complete discharge planning and follow-up care, ensuring accurate and timely documentation of patient care activities, including evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
Manage time effectively, meet productivity expectations, and demonstrate flexibility and empathy to facilitate patient access to care.
Engage in continuing education for professional growth, serve as a clinical instructor for students, and assist with orientation and mentoring of staff, students, volunteers, and technicians.
Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited school.
Licensure in Maryland, District of Columbia (DC), and/or Virginia as required for the specific location.
American Heart Association’s BLS (Basic Life Support) certification for Healthcare Providers and CPR certification.
Salary Range: $72,758.40 - $123,260.80
