MedStar Health is looking for a Physical Therapist to join our team at Therapy - Leisure World! The ideal candidate will be a licensed physical therapist with professional competency as a general practitioner in physical therapy; demonstrate varied evaluation and treatment approaches; possess customer service skills for interacting with patients, including communication with patients and family members of diverse ages and backgrounds; and have effective communication skills.
The Physical Therapist provides physical therapy services, including screening, evaluation, treatment planning, implementation, re-assessment, discharge planning, and documentation in various settings. The role involves participating in program planning, protocol development, and helping the team meet goals.

Provides evaluation services, reviews pertinent historical information, conducts assessments, and documents results. Explains findings and treatment plans to patients and families, involving them in goal setting.
Implements treatment protocols proficiently based on evaluation findings, patient presentation, and healthcare environment. Consults with other healthcare professionals as needed. Recognizes and documents changes in patient condition requiring plan modification or medical consultation.
Completes discharge planning and follow-up care. Documents and charges for care activities accurately and timely, including initial evaluation, plan of care, progress notes, interim summaries, and discharge evaluation.
Demonstrates effective time management, meets productivity expectations, manages an accurate schedule, and provides flexible, empathetic patient access to care.
Pursues continuing education for professional growth. Serves as a clinical instructor and assists with orientation and mentoring of staff, students, volunteers, and technicians.
Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited school.
Licensure in Maryland, District of Columbia (DC), and/or Virginia as required for the specific location.
American Heart Association's BLS (Basic Life Support) and CPR certification.
Salary range: $72,758.40 - $123,260.80
