Job summary

UPMC is seeking a Physical Therapist to evaluate patients, develop individualized treatment plans, and provide evidence-based therapy to improve mobility and quality of life. You will work with a diverse patient population in an outpatient setting.

The role welcomes new graduates with training provided and emphasizes patient-centered care, collaboration with physicians, and ongoing professional development. Schedule is Monday–Friday; evenings allowed; no weekends or holidays required.

Qualifications

  • Active license in practicing state required.
  • CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
  • Physical Therapist (PT)
  • Act 33 with renewal
  • Act 34 with renewal
  • Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
  • Outpatient orthopaedic experience, preferred
  • Must possess knowledge and skills required to provide quality customer service.
  • Graduate of an accredited program approved by the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA).

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive physical therapy evaluations and treatments
  • Develop and adjust individualized care plans based on patient progress
  • Document patient care, treatment outcomes, and discharge planning
  • Communicate patient status with physicians and the healthcare team
  • Supervise Physical Therapist Assistants
  • Provide home exercise programs and patient/family education
  • Rotate through treatment areas as needed
  • Participate in staff meetings, continuing education, and professional development
  • May serve as a clinical instructor for PT students and residents

Schedule: Monday-Friday | 7:00 AM - 8:00 PM

No weekends * No holidays * No on-call

About the Role

As a Physical Therapist, you will evaluate patients, develop individualized treatment plans, provide evidence-based therapy interventions, monitor progress, and educate patients and families to help achieve optimal outcomes. You will work with a diverse patient population, helping individuals improve mobility, strength, balance, function, and overall quality of life.
