Job summary

Goodwin Living in the Washington, DC region is seeking a licensed Physical Therapist for PRN opportunities across our rehabilitative program. The role focuses on mobility improvement, pain relief, and functional gains under a Plan of Care, with coordination with the Rehab Department and nursing teams.

Candidates must hold a DC license in Physical Therapy, a degree from an APTA-accredited program, and CPR certification.

Qualifications

• Degree in Physical Therapy from an APTA approved and accredited college or university.
• Current licensure as a Physical Therapist in the District of Columbia.
• CPR certification (adult only).
• Capacity to move, lift or transfer up to 50 lbs as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provides Physical Therapy treatments to improve mobility and reduce pain under a Plan of Care.
• Communicates treatment progress, adverse effects, and adjusts the Plan of Care as needed.
• Documents treatments according to Rehab Department protocols and Medicare guidelines.
• Coordinates resident’s treatment with nursing and other therapists.

Pay rate: $60-$65

About the Position

Assesses, plans, organizes, and administers rehabilitative programs that improve mobility, relieve pain, increase strength, and improve or correct disabling conditions resulting from disease or injury.

Job Duties

• Provides Physical Therapy treatments to overcome specific losses of function due to disease and injury, under a Physical Therapist’s Plan of Care, and as dictated by the Commonwealth of Virginia Occupational Therapy Practice Act.
• Effectively communicates to clarify the Plan of Care, relay resident’s progress with treatment, report any adverse effects of treatment, report medical decline or inability to follow through with recommended treatments, and offers suggestions to alter and progress the Plan of Care based on knowledge and experience with that particular resident.
• Documents treatments/services according to the Rehab Department’s protocols and Medicare guidelines
• Coordinates resident’s treatment with nursing staff, physical and speech therapists.

Job Requirements

• Degree in Physical Therapy from an APTA approved and accredited college or university.
• Current licensure as a Physical Therapist in the District of Columbia.
• CPR certification (adult only).
• Has the ability to move intermittently throughout the workday, lift, push, pull, and move equipment, supplies, etc. up to 50 lbs. getting assistance when needed is a must.
