Job summary

Shreveport Rehabilitation Hospital seeks a licensed Physical Therapist to independently evaluate and determine treatment strategies for patients with acute or prolonged physical dysfunction. The role emphasizes evaluation, analysis of patients, and therapeutic application of methods to maximize functional independence.

The incumbent will perform evaluations of strength, mobility, gait, balance, and activities of daily living, delivering or delegating services accordingly.

Qualifications

• Current state licensure as a Physical Therapist.
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association and/or American Red Cross is required (online certification not acceptable).
• Inpatient rehabilitation experience is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, determine treatment strategies, and deliver or delegate services to identify and rehabilitate physical dysfunction.
• Apply therapies including exercise and other procedures to maximize functional independence.

Job description

Position Summary:

Independently evaluates, determines treatment strategies, delivers and/or delegates services that identify, prevent, remediate, and rehabilitate acute or prolonged physical dysfunction or pain, with emphasis on physical dysfunction. This role encompasses evaluation skills and techniques, analysis of patients, and therapeutic application of physical and chemical agents, exercise and other procedures to maximize the patient's functional independence. Evaluation involves strength, motor control, joint mobility, soft tissue integrity, pain, balance, coordination, posture, cardiopulmonary function, endurance, gait and functional abilities in activities of daily living.

Pay:

Rate of pay is based on years of experience and qualifications.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Current state licensure as an Physical Therapist
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained from the American Heart Association and/or American Red Cross. Online certification is not acceptable.

Desired Qualifications:

• Inpatient rehabilitation experience
