Job summary

The Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) Florence location is seeking a PRN Physical Therapist to evaluate and treat patients in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. You will establish goals, reassess progress, and document care while collaborating with physicians, case managers and insurance professionals.

New graduates are welcome; SC Board Certified or Eligible, current driver's license and BLS are required.

Qualifications

• Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited school.
• New graduates acceptable.
• SC Board Certified / Eligible

Responsibilities

• Evaluates, administers and directs therapy as prescribed by a referring practitioner.
• Establishes goals of physical therapy and re-assesses patient progress with documentation.
• Communicates with patients, families, peers, and other professionals to provide continuity of care.
• Evaluates and treats patients recovering from injury, disease, surgery or other ailments.
• Establishes treatment plans and uses exercises, stretching, hands-on therapy and equipment to ease pain and aid recovery.
• Supervises physical therapy assistants, aides and athletic trainers where applicable.

Job Description

Evaluates, administers and directs administration of therapeutic procedures utilized in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, as prescribed by a referring practitioner. Establishes goals of physical therapy and re-assesses patient's progress at regular, timely intervals, supporting findings with appropriate documentation. This job classification is required to care for patients of all ages. Communicates with patients, families, peers, and other professionals as needed to provide continuity of care. Evaluates and treats patients recovering from injury, disease, surgery, or other ailments. Establishes treatment plans and treats patients using a variety of methods, including exercises, stretching maneuvers, hands-on therapy, and equipment to ease patients' pain and help them recover. Works cooperatively with physicians, case managers, and insurance adjusters. Documents and reports on patients' progress. May supervise physical therapy assistants, aides, and athletic trainers.

Education
