Job summary

Topaz Fiscal Services in Mobile, AL is seeking a Physical Therapist to screen, evaluate, and treat patients/residents in our facility. The role requires a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Physical Therapy and a current state license, with strong communication and clinical skills.

You will develop and implement treatment plans, supervise PT staff, participate in education, and work with the rehab team and families.

Qualifications

• Must hold Bachelor’s and/or Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy.
• Current state license to practice Physical Therapy.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Screen, evaluate, and treat facility patients/residents in need of PT services.
• Review medical information and perform screenings to determine need for PT.
• Develop and implement patient treatment plans based on physician orders.
• Directly treat patients and educate staff; supervise PT staff as needed.
• Participate in continuing education and professional development.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient, facility, and physician information.
• Maintain accurate daily billing information per procedures.
• Attend interdisciplinary and family meetings to relay findings.
• Document according to Rehab department policies and manuals.
• Supervise PT assistants and rehab aides in accordance with laws.
• Respect facility policies and Rehab Procedure Manual.

Job description

Qualifications: The Physical Therapist must: have a Bachelors and/or Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy, have a current state license, have excellent oral and written communication skills, demonstrate competency in therapy treatment and evaluation principles, techniques, materials, and equipment utilization, and demonstrate knowledge of state and federal accreditation standards.

The Physical Therapist:

• Assumes responsibility for the screening, evaluation, and treatment of facility patients/residents needing Physical Therapy services
• Reviews medical information and conducts screenings prior to evaluations to determine patient need for services and ability to benefit from skilled services
• Performs patient’s evaluations under physician order and develops a treatment plan in accordance with patient’s needs
• Implements treatment plan through direct treatment, education of treatment staff, and supervision of physical therapy staff
• Assumes responsibility for continued professional growth and development by participating in continuing education programs and other appropriate learning experiences
• Maintains confidentiality of all patient, facility, and physician-related information
• Maintains accurate billing information, in accordance with procedures, on a daily basis
• Attends and participates in interdisciplinary meetings, as appropriate, to relay clinical findings and recommendations to other members of the rehab team
• Attends and participates in family meetings, as appropriate
• Adheres to documentation requirements of the Rehabilitation department and the facility
• Conducts staff training/education, as appropriate, via formal and informal in-services and consultations
• Reviews and follows the policies and procedures outlined by the facility and Rehab Policy and Procedure Manual
• Supervises Physical Therapy Assistants and rehabilitation aides/extenders as indicated by patient needs and state laws and discipline practice act
• Supervises non-professional staff, as appropriate
