Job summary

Parham Doctors' Hospital is seeking a Physical Therapist for PRN coverage in the Richmond, VA area. You will evaluate patients, develop personalized treatment plans, and deliver interventions to restore movement and reduce pain.

You will monitor progress, educate families, and collaborate across disciplines to ensure high-quality, patient-centered care. This PRN role requires Virginia licensure and BLS certification; acute care experience is preferred, but new graduates may be considered.

Qualifications

• EDUCATION: Graduate of an APTA accredited school of physical therapy.
• BLS certification required.
• LICENSURE: Licensed in the State of Virginia.
• EXPERIENCE: Acute care experience preferred; new grads considered.

• Evaluating patient abilities and developing personalized treatment plans in collaboration with physicians and the care team.
• Delivering evidence-based interventions that restore movement and reduce pain.
• Monitoring progress, refining therapy plans, and documentation of outcomes.

Job Summary And Qualifications

As a Physical Therapist, you play a vital role in helping patients regain strength, restore mobility, and rebuild confidence following illness, injury, or surgery. Working closely with physicians and the care team, you’ll assess each patient’s needs and create personalized therapy plans designed around meaningful goals, active engagement, and exceptional patient outcomes. Your role will include:

• Evaluating patient abilities and developing personalized treatment plans in collaboration with physicians and the care team
• Delivering evidence-based interventions that restore movement, reduce pain, and enhance quality of life
• Monitoring progress, refining therapy plans, and ensuring accurate, timely documentation of outcomes
• Educating patients and families on exercise programs, adaptive techniques, and safe practices that promote independence
• Collaborating across disciplines to ensure cohesive, patient-centered care and smooth transitions throughout recovery
• Leading by example—mentoring therapy assistants or students while upholding HCA Healthcare’s values of excellence, compassion, and integrity
• Responsible for clinical management of the patient.
• Assures satisfaction of customers (patients, visitors, physicians and staff), upholding ICARE values
• Participates and understands Quality Management activities.
• Demonstrates effective communication skills.
• Demonstrates understanding of hospital and departmental policies and procedures.
• Promotes cost effective unit operations.
• Documents care utilizing the appropriate tools.
• Maintains competencies in clinical areas and is responsible for professional growth and development.
• Complies with professional, regulatory, governmental and departmental standards.

What qualifications you will need:

• EDUCATION: Graduate of an APTA accredited school of physical
• BLS
• LICENSURE: Licensed in the State of Virginia
• EXPERIENCE: Previous experience in an acute care facility preferred; new graduates considered

• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• (LPT) Licensed Physical Therapist
