Responsibilities
  • Ensure delivery of high-quality patient care services
  • Perform direct patient care, including evaluation of muscle, skeletal, neurological, and other physical problems
  • Support and encourage multidisciplinary coordination of treatment
  • Ensure proper documentation of patient care
  • Maintain professional standards through compliance with quality assurance policies/procedures as well as applicable regulations and corporate policies
  • Implement effective communication with staff, medical personnel, and patients to ensure coordinated efforts and high-quality service
  • Demonstrate effective problem-solving and conflict-resolution abilities
  • Inform the Administrator of department issues, needs, and solutions promptly
  • Plan, design, implement, and interpret physical therapy treatment programs to facilitate patient recovery
  • Educate patients on proper care, support use, and exercise programs
  • Perform or delegate treatments including modalities, exercises, gait training, and hydrotherapy
  • Follow documentation and reporting procedures
  • Secure prescriptions for treated patients
  • Work closely with physicians to ensure comprehensive care
  • Assist with tours and participate in professional development
  • Communicate with Outcome Assurance Injury Coordinator or Case Manager regarding patient progress
  • Participate in clinical instruction of students and quality management evaluation
  • Ensure compliance with licensing, certification, and accreditation rules
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited Physical Therapy program
  • Master’s Degree preferred
  • Ortho-outpatient experience preferred
