Responsibilities
- Ensure delivery of high-quality patient care services
- Perform direct patient care, including evaluation of muscle, skeletal, neurological, and other physical problems
- Support and encourage multidisciplinary coordination of treatment
- Ensure proper documentation of patient care
- Maintain professional standards through compliance with quality assurance policies/procedures as well as applicable regulations and corporate policies
- Implement effective communication with staff, medical personnel, and patients to ensure coordinated efforts and high-quality service
- Demonstrate effective problem-solving and conflict-resolution abilities
- Inform the Administrator of department issues, needs, and solutions promptly
- Plan, design, implement, and interpret physical therapy treatment programs to facilitate patient recovery
- Educate patients on proper care, support use, and exercise programs
- Perform or delegate treatments including modalities, exercises, gait training, and hydrotherapy
- Follow documentation and reporting procedures
- Secure prescriptions for treated patients
- Work closely with physicians to ensure comprehensive care
- Assist with tours and participate in professional development
- Communicate with Outcome Assurance Injury Coordinator or Case Manager regarding patient progress
- Participate in clinical instruction of students and quality management evaluation
- Ensure compliance with licensing, certification, and accreditation rules
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited Physical Therapy program
- Master’s Degree preferred
- Ortho-outpatient experience preferred
