**The role you’ll contribute:**

A staff **physical therapist** is a qualified professional who is responsible for providing physical therapy services to all patient populations (pediatrics through geriatrics). Provides physical therapy services to patients/clients who have physical impairments, functional limitations, disabilities, or changes in physical function and health status resulting from injury, disease, or other causes; provide prevention and wellness services, including screenings and health promotion.

+ Physical therapists demonstrate and articulate sound clinical reasoning in synthesizing complex evaluation data identifying the diagnosis and developing a comprehensive plan of care

+ Develop and update appropriate plan of care in collaboration with the patient/family and related to the person’s age and lifestyle with measurable long- and short-term goals and a defined discharge plan

+ Understand the role of physical therapy in the context of the patient’s age, total needs perspective and environment.

+ Perform age-appropriate competency skills in area of practice and with respect to individual patient’s problems.

+ Exhibit the highest level of quality and services to all patients.

+ Plan, develop, coordinate and implement varying levels of activities for swing bed patients in order to help patients meet their therapy goals

+ Ensure patient goals for swing bed are met.

+ Actively support and participate in patient coverage efforts within the department and across other departments as necessary.

+ Documentation is concise, pertinent and meets the professions and departments documentation standards.

Qualifications

**The expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed:**

**Required:**

+ A minimum of a **bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy**

+ Successful completion of **NC Physical Therapy State Board Examination or other state equivalent**

+ **Licensure as a Physical Therapist** within the state of North Carolina

+ Must hold and maintain current **BCLS certification** (Basic Cardiac Life Support)
