A staff physical therapist is a qualified professional who is responsible for providing physical therapy services to all patient populations (pediatrics through geriatrics). Provides physical therapy services to patients/clients who have physical impairments, functional limitations, disabilities, or changes in physical function and health status resulting from injury, disease, or other causes; provide prevention and wellness services, including screenings and health promotion.

  • Physical therapists demonstrate and articulate sound clinical reasoning in synthesizing complex evaluation data identifying the diagnosis and developing a comprehensive plan of care
  • Develop and update appropriate plan of care in collaboration with the patient/family and related to the person’s age and lifestyle with measurable long- and short-term goals and a defined discharge plan
  • Understand the role of physical therapy in the context of the patient’s age, total needs perspective and environment.
  • Perform age-appropriate competency skills in area of practice and with respect to individual patient’s problems.
  • Exhibit the highest level of quality and services to all patients.
  • Plan, develop, coordinate and implement varying levels of activities for swing bed patients in order to help patients meet their therapy goals
  • Ensure patient goals for swing bed are met.
  • Actively support and participate in patient coverage efforts within the department and across other departments as necessary.
  • Documentation is concise, pertinent and meets the professions and departments documentation standards.
The expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed: Required:
  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy
  • Successful completion of NC Physical Therapy State Board Examination or other state equivalent
  • Licensure as a Physical Therapist within the state of North Carolina
  • Must hold and maintain current BCLS certification (Basic Cardiac Life Support)
