Job summary

CHRISTUS Health in Texas is seeking a Physical Therapist to assess, plan, evaluate and implement care for patients in our facility.

The position requires a Doctorate/CDPT preferred and a state LPT license with BLS certification. It is a full-time, on-site role with adherence to PT practice standards and regulatory policies to ensure quality patient care.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in physical therapy required.
• LPT license in state of employment required.
• BLS certification required.
• Doctorate degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Gathers pertinent data from chart and other care givers; discusses with physician as necessary.
• Independently assesses all patient types as assigned.
• Recognizes additional needs during evaluation and uses good judgment in testing decisions.
• Interprets results and formulates measurable, realistic goals.
• Reassesses patient progress regularly per policy and needs.
• Identifies appropriate equipment and discusses it with patient and family.

Summary:

The Physical Therapist has the responsibility and accountability for assessing, planning, evaluating and implementing care for the patients assigned physical therapy. The Physical Therapist is responsible for adhering to all standards of Physical Therapy Practice Act as they apply to providing technical therapy care, supplies, equipment and interventions to a designated patient population.

Responsibilities:

• Gathers pertinent data from chart and other care givers; discusses with physician as necessary
• Independently assesses all patient types as assigned
• Demonstrates ability to recognize additional needs during evaluation; exercises good judgment in decision making when requesting, scheduling and/or performing additional testing
• Interprets results and formulates relevant, measurable, realistic and attainable goals
• Reassesses patient progress regularly per department and regulatory policy, or when need arises
• Identifies appropriate equipment, discusses with patient and family and makes
