Job description

Practice Somewhere You Want to Build a Life

Imagine starting your morning with a trail run in Green Mountain Park and spending your afternoon helping patients get back to doing the things they love most. That's the reality of a PT/PTA life in Lakewood, CO — a city where the mountains aren't just scenery, they're a way of life. With 300+ days of sunshine, easy access to world-class skiing, cycling, and hiking, and a tight-knit community that values health and movement, Lakewood is the perfect place to build a career that fits your life.

This PT/PTA role was designed for clinicians who refuse to choose between professional fulfillment and personal freedom. You'll work with motivated, active patients who are eager to recover and get back outside — making every session genuinely rewarding. Flexible scheduling, competitive hourly pay, unlimited continuing education and a supportive clinical team mean you can do your best work without sacrificing the Colorado lifestyle that brought you here in the first place. The mountains are calling — and so are we.

Many therapists move here for the lifestyle—and stay for the career growth, community, and mentorship opportunities. This is a place where you can practice hands‑on PT, take ownership of your patients, and develop into a future clinic leader while building the life you love.

About Physical Therapy of the Rockies

What happens when a PT gets tired of asking permission to run a great clinic? They build one. After hitting the ceiling of a large Denver rehab network—leadership role and all—our founder walked away in 2015 to create something corporate PT never could: a practice built around clinical excellence, not productivity quotas. A decade later, it's two locations, 10+ clinicians, and a credential stack that includes Diploma Osteopractic, McKenzie, vestibular rehab, dry needling, and spinal manipulation.

You’ll join a team where mentorship is part of the job, collaboration is real, and professional growth is encouraged. Our clinics consistently rank in the top tier nationally for patient outcomes, and we prioritize creating a work environment where you can thrive both professionally and personally.

The Physical Therapy Career You Want

You’ll spend most of your time directly with patients, designing and delivering hands‑on care. Key responsibilities include:

  • Evaluating patients and creating individualized, evidence‑based treatment plans

  • Providing interventions such as manual therapy, therapeutic exercise, and specialty modalities

  • Educating patients and families on exercises, recovery, and injury prevention

  • Tracking progress and adjusting plans as patients progress

  • Collaborating with other healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive care

  • Maintaining clear documentation in line with HIPAA and state/federal rules using state‑of‑the‑art AI technology

Who We’re Looking For

We’re looking for a PT or PTA who is passionate about helping patients move better and grow professionally. Ideal candidates have:

  • Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) from an accredited program

  • Licensed or eligible for licensure in Colorado

  • New graduates are encouraged to apply. Experience is a plus, not a requirement

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Motivation to grow into leadership opportunities

  • Current CPR certification

Compensation Package

This position starts at $75,000‑$80,000 annually, with bonuses that reward the work you put into your career. The benefits package is built to actually matter to clinicians at this stage of their career:

  • $10,000 in tax‑free student loan repayment over 5 years, paid monthly

  • Unlimited continuing education funds plus a $500 travel stipend, starting at 90 days

  • Medical insurance with the employer covering roughly 75% of your premium, plus an HSA option with employer contributions

  • 401(k) with an employer match that is immediately vested

  • Dental and vision coverage available

  • Short‑term disability and life insurance options

  • 17 days of PTO in year one, growing with tenure

  • License reimbursement and tuition reimbursement

  • Referral bonus program

  • Relocation assistance available

  • Virtual urgent care available 24/7

  • A clear path to leadership for those who want it

Where Great Clinicians Go Further

At Physical Therapy of the Rockies, you’ll get more than a paycheck—you’ll get a career path, mentorship, and the chance to work in one of the country’s most beautiful regions. Some highlights:

  • Clinical autonomy: Make real decisions about patient care

  • Mentorship & professional growth:

    • Tailored New Grad mentoring program with strategic case load build‑up

    • Unlimited continuing education and specialty certifications. Design your career, following your passions.

  • Leadership opportunities: Path to Clinic Director or advanced clinical roles

  • Supportive culture: Teams that genuinely care about each other and their patients

  • Work‑life balance: Reasonable caseloads, flexible scheduling, PTO

  • Lifestyle advantage: Live and play in the Denver Metro area surrounded by hiking, skiing, fishing, and biking

You’ll need to:

  • Lift up to 50 pounds

  • Stand, bend, reach, and use fine motor skills regularly

  • Assist patients with mobility, transfers, and therapeutic exercises
