Job summary

A leading provider of disability services is seeking a dedicated Physical Therapist to evaluate and treat pediatric clients in diverse environments. This role includes developing treatment plans, instructing family and caregivers, and ensuring exceptional service quality. Qualifications

  • Minimum one year of paid experience preferred.
  • Position requires licensure with the California Physical Therapy Board.
  • Current certificates in BLS Adult CPR, Infant/Child CPR, and Basic First Aid required.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate pediatric clients for Physical Therapy services using standardized assessments.
  • Develop treatment goals and programs; supervise therapy students and assistants.
  • Record sessions and progress, coordinating with the Pediatric team.

Job description

Easterseals' therapists evaluate and treat pediatric clients in various natural environments and settings including family’s home, community, schools, and Easterseals clinics and is a premier provider of disability services.

Areas of Responsibility

Direct Service

  • Serve as a member of the Pediatric Services team and evaluate pediatric clients referred for Physical Therapy services using established evaluation procedures and standardized assessments.
  • Develop individual treatment goals, plans and objectives based upon initial evaluations.
  • Develop home and school programs and train family members, caregivers and school personnel to assist children with practicing assigned therapeutic activities as appropriate.
  • Instruct clients, family members, caregivers and school personnel in the proper and safe usage of adaptive equipment.
  • Assist in the coordination of treatment and make appropriate referrals as needed.
  • Provide exceptional customer services, both internally and externally.
  • Supervise physical therapy students, volunteers and physical therapy assistants as assigned.

Documentation

  • Record client sessions, responses, and progress using required format.
  • Complete all paperwork in a timely manner per department protocol.
  • Develop and maintain client's progress reports and documentation, in coordination with the Pediatric team.
  • Attend IFSP, IEP and/or meetings as requested/directed.
Educational Background

Minimum education requirements via diploma from an accredited physical therapy program.

Skills/Experience

  • One (1) year of paid experience as a staff level Physical Therapist is preferred.
  • Experience in the evaluation and treatment of infants, toddlers and/or young children is preferred but not necessary.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

  • Position requires licensure with the California Physical Therapy Board.
  • Position requires possession of a current valid California Driver's License, proof of insurance, and a good driving record.
  • Position requires possession of current certificates in BLS Adult CPR with AED & Infant/Child CPR and Basic First Aid.
  • Fingerprint clearance and background check through the Department of Justice and FBI.
  • Position requires pre-placement physical and back assessment.
  • Position requires proof of negative TB test within the past twelve (12) months.
