Job summary

Candor Consulting & Diagnostics is seeking a dedicated School-Based Physical Therapist to improve student mobility and independence within the educational setting. You will conduct evaluations, collaborate with IEP teams, and deliver therapy or supervise PTAs.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
  • Active license by the Texas Board of Physical Therapy Examiners.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Bilingual skills preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate needs and conduct comprehensive PT evaluations aligned with Texas standards.
  • Share findings with parents, educators and district personnel with actionable recommendations.
  • Collaborate with IEP teams to design individualized therapeutic interventions.
  • Deliver direct therapy or supervise PTAs in implementing IEP goals.
  • Monitor progress and document data for IEP reviews and planning.
  • Participate in ARD meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions to advocate for students.

Your Role:

As a school-basedPhysical Therapist, you’ll play a key role in helping students improve their mobility, access their educational environment, and achieve greater independence. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Evaluate Needs:Conduct comprehensive Physical Therapy evaluations using standardized tools, observations, and student-centered assessments to determine the need for specialized services in alignment with Texas education standards.
  • Communicate Findings:Share evaluation results with parents, educators, and district personnel, offering clear, actionable recommendations that promote students’ access to education and functional independence.
  • Develop Interventions:Collaborate with the Individualized Education Program (IEP) team to design evidence-based, individualized therapeutic interventions that address student-specific needs, support functional goals, and enhance participation in the educational environment.
  • Provide Therapy:Deliver direct therapy services or supervise licensed Physical Therapy Assistants (PTAs) in implementing IEP goals.
  • Monitor Progress:Collect, analyze, and document student progress data, maintaining detailed and accurate records that inform IEP reviews and ongoing service planning.
  • Support Teams:Actively participate in ARD meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and multidisciplinary team discussions to advocate for students and contribute to the enhancement of special education programs.
