Rehab Associates in Virginia is seeking a licensed Physical Therapist to assess patients, develop treatment plans, and provide direct patient care in outpatient clinics. The role emphasizes documentation, collaboration with physicians and insurers, and independent management of a diverse caseload.

Qualifications

• CAPTE-accredited Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) or PT program graduate.
• Virginia PT license or eligibility to obtain one before employment.
• Current CPR certification.
• Experience or interest in outpatient orthopedic care, balance and vestibular rehab.
• Ability to develop and implement individualized outpatient treatment plans.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients and develop/ initiate treatment plans based on evaluations.
• Review referrals and patient records to determine required PT treatment.
• Provide direct patient care per established protocols.
• Document findings, progress and instructions to patients/caregivers.
• Supervise assistants and rehab technicians during patient care.
• Develop a comprehensive plan of care and program to achieve goals.
• Deliver PT treatments and ensure timely documentation.

Job Description

• Assesses patients and develops and initiates treatment plans based on the evaluation results.
• Review the Physician's referral (Prescription) and the patient's condition and medical records to determine the physical therapy treatment required.
• Provides direct patient care by established protocols and patient care guidelines.
• Documents findings, progress, and instructions to patients and caregivers.
• Responsible for patient care performed by assistants and rehabilitation technicians.
• Completes a written plan of care, develops goals based on evaluation findings, and develops a comprehensive program to attain goals.
• Implements physical therapy treatment program and provides essential physical therapy treatments.
• Communicates effectively with patients/caregivers and professional colleagues, including physicians and insurance companies.
• Ensure timely documentation, including daily notes, weekly workers' compensation reports, progress reports, initial evaluations, discharge summaries, and incident reports.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a CAPTE-accredited Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) or Physical Therapy program.
• Current Virginia Physical Therapist license, or eligibility to obtain one before employment.
• Current CPR certification (or ability to obtain upon hire).
• Experience or interest in outpatient orthopedic care, including balance and vestibular rehabilitation.
• Ability to develop and implement individualized treatment plans in an outpatient setting.
• Comfortable working independently while effectively managing a diverse patient caseload.
• Strong communication, clinical reasoning, and patient education skills.
• Proficient with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems and standard Microsoft Office applications.
