Job Description

Deliver physical therapy services through evaluation of patient needs, goal determination, and development of treatment plans according to the principles and practices of physical therapy.

Principal Responsibilities and Tasks

The following statements describe the general nature and level of work performed by personnel in this classification. They are not an exhaustive list of all duties.

  1. Perform direct physical therapy services to patients following accepted standards, the Maryland Physical Therapy Practice Act, ethical guidelines, and departmental procedures.
  2. Record patient evaluations, re-evaluations, and care provided in the medical record, adhering to documentation standards.
  3. Participate in performance improvement activities, suggest improvements, and propose new treatment techniques to enhance services.
  4. Report clinical and operational issues to department leadership to ensure high-quality care and efficient operations.
  5. Provide interdisciplinary, safe, patient-centered care and deliver excellent customer service.

Located in Largo within Prince George's County, our new state-of-the-art regional medical center (UM Capital Region Medical Center) aims to improve access to primary and ambulatory care, serving as a tertiary center for critically ill patients. It will also expand community health initiatives to enhance the well-being of residents.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's preferred.
  • 1 year relevant experience preferred.
  • Licensed Physical Therapist in Maryland.
  • Current ACLS or BCLS certification.
  • Certified Lymphedema Therapist.
