Qualifications

We are hiring Inpatient PT's and Outpatient PT's!

Outpatient PT Info:We are looking to add another dynamic Physical Therapist to join our 25-person team! At VHC Health, the Outpatient Physical Therapists work on specialty teams so they can delve into diagnosis and treatment. Teams orthopedic, spine, balance, vestibular, pelvic health, lymphedema, oncology, cardiac and chronic pain. The therapists also treat oncology and cardiac diagnosis patients as well. This department values continual learning and evidence based practice. Specialty rounds are consistently scheduled for therapists to meet for article reviews to collaborate, discuss interesting cases, provide support, learn further techniques as a group and stay up-to-date with today’s advancements. Another factor that adds to the team’s success is that they have a solid onboarding process, which includes a new hire mentorship program. The VHC Outpatient Rehabilitation Team focuses on manual techniques with minimal modality use to provide quality one-to-one care. To make sure they are able to provide the most for patients, the Rehabilitation Department has access to excellent equipment including real time ultrasound, biofeedback stimulation combo for neuromuscular retraining, restricted blood flow therapy system, Real Eyes Goggles system for vestibular evaluation and treatment. VHC is excited to announce the new construction of an Outpatient Pavilion which was completed Summer of 2023! The Outpatient Rehabilitation team will be moving to this new, state of the art building, which will include a brand new aquatic program. There are incredible opportunities for career growth including climbing the clinical ladder and potential promotions to lead therapist or regional manager. In addition, VHC is currently in the process of opening several off-site physical therapy locations in neighboring communities. This will create an opportunity for therapists to work closer to home and help extend our healthcare reach to those in need. Inpatient PT Info:We are looking to add another dynamic Physical Therapist to join our team! At VHC Health, the Physical Therapists rotate through different units every 3 months, which allows the team to treat a variety of patient populations and diagnoses including orthopedic, oncology, cardiac, medical/surgical, neurology, ICU, and trauma. What is unique about this department is that all therapists have the opportunity to follow their passion and focus on a specialty through the VHC Therapist Residence Program. Another factor that adds to the team’s success is that we have a solid onboarding process, which includes a new hire mentorship program. We also have a high level of collaboration amongst fellow coworkers. To make sure we are providing the most for patients, the Rehabilitation Department is actively involved in care coordination rounds and is an integral part of the interdisciplinary team. Our inpatient therapists are involved in hospital-wide initiatives to provide the best patient care, including safe mobility promotion, delirium prevention, wound prevention, and improving outcomes with trauma, post- operative, and stroke patients. Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy is required.
  • Licensed as a Physical Therapist in the Commonwealth of Virginia required.
  • Current American Heart Association BLS CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

  • Uses current evidence, patient values, and personal experiences in making clinical decisions.
  • Assesses outcomes of interventions provided and adapts techniques as needed, based on a patient’s cognition, culture, communication needs, learning style and/or physical response.
  • Incorporates tests/measures validated for the patient population and sets goals using minimal detectable change, minimal clinically important difference or established cut scores, when available.
  • Writes clear and defensible documentation consistent with facility specific standards that articulates clinical decision making and skill of the therapist.
