Job summary

Rehab Associates seeks a skilled Physical Therapist for its Virginia outpatient clinics. You will assess patients, develop and initiate treatment plans, and provide direct care per established protocols. The role emphasizes documentation, collaboration with physicians and insurers, and mentoring staff within a supportive environment.

The position offers mentorship, robust CE opportunities, and a path for leadership in a growing network. Virginia license and outpatient experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a CAPTE-accredited Doctor of Physical Therapy program.
• Current Virginia Physical Therapist license or eligibility to obtain one before employment.
• Experience or interest in outpatient orthopedic care, balance and vestibular rehab.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients and develop and initiate treatment plans based on evaluations.
• Review physician prescriptions and patient records to determine required PT treatments.
• Provide direct patient care per established protocols and guidelines.
• Document findings, progress, and instructions to patients and caregivers.
• Supervise assistants and rehabilitation technicians during patient care.
• Develop a plan of care and goals based on evaluations to guide a comprehensive program.
• Implement PT treatment programs and essential therapies.
• Communicate with patients, caregivers, physicians, and insurers.
• Ensure timely documentation: daily notes, progress reports, discharge summaries, and incident reports.

Job Description

• Assesses patients and develops and initiates treatment plans based on the evaluation results.

• Review the Physician's referral (Prescription) and the patient's condition and medical records to determine the physical therapy treatment required.

• Provides direct patient care by established protocols and patient care guidelines.

• Documents findings, progress, and instructions to patients and caregivers.

• Responsible for patient care performed by assistants and rehabilitation technicians.

• Completes a written plan of care, develops goals based on evaluation findings, and develops a comprehensive program to attain goals.

• Implements physical therapy treatment program and provides essential physical therapy treatments.

• Communicates effectively with patients/caregivers and professional colleagues, including physicians and insurance companies.

• Ensure timely documentation, including daily notes, weekly workers' compensation reports, progress reports, initial evaluations, discharge summaries, and incident reports.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a CAPTE-accredited Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) or Physical Therapy program.

• Current Virginia Physical Therapist license, or eligibility to obtain one before employment.

• Current CPR certification (or ability to obtain upon hire).

• Experience or interest in outpatient orthopedic care, including balance and vestibular rehabilitation.

• Ability to develop and implement individualized treatment plans in an outpatient setting.

• Comfortable working independently while effectively managing a diverse patient caseload.

• Strong communication, clinical reasoning, and patient education skills.

• Proficient with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems and standard Microsoft Office applications.
