Physical Therapist - Outpatient Clinic - Mercy Health Fairfield Medical Specialty/ Neurologic PT Position

Job Description

Mercy Health Physical Therapy, Fairfield is seeking a talented compassionate physical therapist committed to excellence. Our outpatient rehabilitation team is a leader in evidence-based neurological care. All therapists work closely with the talented physicians here at Mercy Health. The treatment model is impairment-based and focused on hands-on, evidence-based care delivered on a one-to-one basis. Therapists are trained in the latest advanced skills.

Specifically, you’ll need:

  • To evaluate, plan, and implement Physical Therapy services using an impairment-based approach according to the standards of practice, governing laws of the State of Ohio, and facility and department policies and procedures.
  • Current licensure as a physical therapist in Ohio.
  • CPR certification.
  • Neurological Training and/or Certifications Preferred.
  • Ability to thrive in a team environment including physicians, PTs, and other rehab professionals.
  • Ability to educate patients, families, caregivers, and treatment teams.
  • Ability to manage a busy caseload effectively.

Job Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited program in Physical Therapy.
  • Holds current license from the State of Ohio.
  • Advanced degree related to a clinical specialty tract, dual education, and/or certification in neurological physical therapy preferred (not required).

Job Summary:

The Physical Therapist conducts initial and ongoing assessments and provides skilled therapeutic interventions to patients across outpatient, inpatient, pediatric, and off-site settings, supporting the continuum of professional care.

Essential Functions:

  • Evaluate patients, develop treatment plans with specific goals, and adjust as needed.
  • Provide direct therapy following the patient’s plan of care and current standards of practice for Physical Therapy. Educate patients and families on therapeutic procedures.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records of treatment, progress, and coordination of services in electronic medical records.
  • Maintain productivity levels while ensuring quality care.
  • Follow departmental policies on safety, infection control, and compliance.
  • Supervise physical therapist assistants and support professional growth.

Education: None required.

Licensing & Certifications:

  • Licensed Physical Therapist in Ohio or eligible for traineeship or temporary license.
  • BLS certification preferred upon hire; required within 30 days for BSMH or at hire for RSFH.

Experience:

  • 2 years of relevant experience preferred.

Skills & Abilities:

  • Apply age-specific standards and guidelines for pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
  • Proficient in computer skills including data entry, word processing, and records management.
  • Evaluate patient conditions and progress critically.
  • Effective interpersonal communication with colleagues, patients, and families.
  • Work well with diverse patient populations and healthcare professionals.
  • Demonstrate critical thinking skills.
