Shirley Ryan AbilityLab in Chicago, IL is seeking a highly skilled Physical Therapist to optimize patient function and mobility through evidence-based interventions. The role emphasizes integrating current research with patient-centered care to promote recovery from physical limitations.

The PT will work within the Outpatient Neurological Center, collaborating with physicians and care teams, and contributing to research and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy or equivalent from an accredited program.
• Licensed to practice in the State of Illinois.
• Current CPR or BLS certification from AHA or Red Cross.

Responsibilities

• Conducts advanced evaluations of neuromuscular, musculoskeletal and cardiovascular systems using validated assessment tools to inform individualized treatment plans.
• Determines suitability for treatment based on patient evaluation results.
• Delivers therapeutic interventions based on latest clinical research and best practices.
• Designs and adapts rehabilitation programs based on patient progress and outcomes.
• Establishes patient-centered goals using evidence-based outcome measures.
• Discusses results, goals, and plans with patients, providing education and support.
• Leads discharge planning and home exercise program development when appropriate.
• Documents patient evaluations and progress in compliant records for communication and regulatory needs.
• Prescribes devices and coordinates DME delivery and fitting with physicians and other providers.
• Supervises PT students and supports academic standards and evidence-based practice.
