Location: MetroHealth Old Brooklyn Campus

Biweekly Hours: 8.00

Shift: 2 weekend shifts/month; 2 holidays/year

Summary: Evaluates and treats patients through physical measures, therapeutic exercises, and rehabilitation procedures (with or without assistive devices) to prevent, correct, or alleviate disabilities. Patients may include neonates through geriatrics. Upholds the mission, vision, values, and customer service standards of The MetroHealth System.

Qualifications:

  • Required: Bachelor’s Degree, Master’s Degree, or post-graduate certificate in Physical Therapy from an APTA-accredited school
  • Valid Physical Therapist licensure in Ohio
  • Current BLS certification or obtain within 90 days of hire
  • Ability to travel to satellite locations

Preferred: Membership in the APTA

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to walk without assistive device and maintain balance during ambulation and gait training
  • Ability to lift and reach to assist patients
  • Sensation of touch and manual dexterity for palpation and monitoring
  • Visual acuity to observe movement and gait
  • Clear speech for instruction
  • Ability to hear and understand patient descriptions
  • Frequent tasks: standing, sitting, walking, reaching, crouching, balancing, lifting 5-25 lbs, pushing up to 75 lbs
  • Occasional tasks: stooping, climbing, lifting/moving 24-50 lbs
