Job summary

The Rehabilitation Hospital of Indiana (RHI) is seeking a Physical Therapist (PT) for inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation. The PT will evaluate patients aged 15 and older, develop individualized treatment plans, and apply evidence-based interventions to improve function.

Qualifications

• Must possess a Physical Therapy degree from an accredited program.
• Must have current IN state Physical Therapist license.
• CPR certification per AHA standards or obtainable within 4 weeks of start date.
• 1 year of adult rehabilitation experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Administers PT evaluations for inpatients and outpatients and develops treatment programs.
• Develops patient-centered plans based on evaluation, goals, and age-related needs.
• Ensures treatment plans meet medical necessity and uses evidence-based methods.
• Revises and communicates the plan with the team and attending physician as needed.

We specialize in the areas of brain injury, stroke, spinal cord injury and complex medical conditions.

SUMMARY

The Physical Therapist (PT) Inpatient position is responsible for the provision of Physical Therapy services for an inpatient and/ or outpatient population from age 15 and older including, but not limited to, evaluation, evidence-based intervention, equipment recommendations and modality application, under the referral of a physician or qualified non-physician practitioner.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Administers PT evaluations to inpatients and outpatients and determines appropriate treatment programs and/or equipment needs, integrating age specific needs and issues for physical medicine rehabilitation population.
• Develops a patient-centered treatment plan based upon the evaluation, patient goals and age-related issues/needs to optimize treatment and function.
• Responsible for assuring the treatment plan supports medical necessity and incorporates evidence-based treatments and outcome measures.
• Responsible for ensuring the treatment plan is revised/updated appropriately per policy, communicated to appropriate team members including attendance at team conferences, and reviewed and signed off by referring physician (as appropriate).
• Charges appropriately for services provided and appropriately documents outcome measures.
• Provides clinical supervision, including but not limited to coordination of care and delegation of duties, to assistants, techs, and students according to state/federal regulations and hospital guidelines.
• Other duties as requested.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Must possess a Physical Therapy degree from an accredited program.
• Physical Therapist IN state license required
• Must have current CPR certification in accordance with AHA standards or be able to obtain within 4 weeks of start date
• 1-year experience with adult physical rehabilitation preferred

Monday-Friday 8:00 AM-5:00 PM; Weekend and Holiday Availability
