The Physical Therapist II evaluates patients' conditions, develops personalized treatment plans, and implements therapeutic interventions to optimize functional abilities. This position is capable of effectively treating all patients within their clinical practice setting and completing all physical therapy functions with minimal guidance. The role involves initiating communication among interdisciplinary team members, confidently treating familiar patients, and advocating for patients and the team. It requires independent practice in the primary setting, with occasional guidance needed in complex or cross-coverage situations.
Responsibilities include evaluating and treating patients with all diagnoses, conducting thorough assessments of physical abilities, medical history, and functional limitations to develop individualized treatment plans. The therapist administers therapeutic exercises and interventions to improve strength, flexibility, and range of motion, and educates patients and families on treatment plans, home exercises, and self-management techniques. They collaborate on developing and implementing discharge plans and recommendations for continued care, monitor and document patient progress, and adjust treatment plans as needed. Collaboration with multidisciplinary teams ensures coordinated patient care. Additional duties may be assigned.
Education: Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy
Experience: Minimum of 3 years
Licensure/Certification: North Carolina license by the NCPT Board of Physical Therapy Examiners; BLS (CPR) certification from American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider
