Job description

The Physical Therapist II evaluates patients' conditions, develops personalized treatment plans, and implements therapeutic interventions to optimize functional abilities. This position is able to effectively and efficiently treat all patients in their clinical practice setting and complete all physical therapy job functions with minimal guidance. It initiates communication among inter-disciplinary team members, treats familiar patients with confidence, and advocates for their patients and team. This role requires independent practice in the primary setting and may require occasional guidance when covering in complex or cross-coverage situations.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Evaluates and treats all diagnoses and more complex patients.
  2. Conducts thorough evaluations of patients' physical abilities, medical history, and functional limitations to develop individualized treatment plans.
  3. Administers therapeutic exercises and other physical therapy interventions to improve patients' strength, flexibility, and range of motion.
  4. Educates patients and their families on treatment plans, home exercises, and self-management techniques to improve recovery outcomes.
  5. Collaborates with others in developing and implementing discharge plans and recommendations for continued care.
  6. Monitors and documents patients' progress, treatment outcomes, and responses to interventions for plan adjustments.
  7. Collaborates with teams from different departments to ensure coordinated patient care and holistic treatment outcomes.
  8. Performs other duties as assigned.

Education: Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy

Experience: 3 years

Licensure/Certification/Registry: North Carolina license by the NCPT Board of Physical Therapy Examiners; BLS (CPR) - American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider
