Job Description: Senior Accountant

Our client, located in Hoffman Estates, Illinois, is a leading privately held company in the environmental waste services industry. They are seeking a highly motivated Senior Accountant with a strong work ethic to join their growing team. The position offers competitive compensation, excellent benefits, and opportunities for advancement. It is an onsite role, Monday-Friday, with 2 hybrid work days per month.

The Senior Accountant will:

1. Influence, drive processes, implement change, and lead proactively with transparency, accountability, and collaboration.
2. Provide accurate, timely accounting and analytical services to enable better business decisions.
3. Support the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
4. Ensure the integrity of accounting data through transaction verification and consolidation.
5. Review financial reports and prepare analyses.
6. Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and maintain subsidiary accounts.
7. Assist with financial reporting deliverables.
8. Analyze inventory values and changes, communicating regularly with field personnel responsible for physical counts.
9. Maintain internal controls compliance and documentation.
10. Collaborate with external auditors and internal audit functions.
11. Analyze business trends and communicate financial performance to product managers and leaders.
12. Develop and implement process improvements to reduce closing time while ensuring quality.
13. Complete ad-hoc projects as assigned.

Position Qualifications:

To succeed, candidates should meet the following requirements:

• 3-8 years of experience in corporate accounting, public accounting, internal audit, or financial analysis.
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field.
• CPA certification is strongly preferred.
• Strong understanding of US GAAP.
• Excellent teamwork, quick learner, and proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Office applications.
• Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
