Northern Cochise Community Hospital in Willcox, AZ is seeking a dedicated Physical Therapist to join a small, mission-driven team in a Critical Access Hospital setting. The role focuses on providing medically prescribed therapy to restore function for in-patients and out-patients, with emphasis on patient-centered care and evidence-based practice.

You will collaborate with Rehabilitation Services and must meet state licensing requirements and BLS certification.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy is required.
  • Master's of Science Degree in Physical Therapy required after 1990.
  • Current unrestricted Physical Therapist license from the Arizona State Board of Physical Therapy Examiners is required.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certificate required and recertify prior to expiration date.

Summary:

Functions as the Physical Therapist (PT) in a team and mission-based setting to provide medically-prescribed physical therapy to restore function and prevent disability following disease, injury or loss of a body part and activities for in-patients and out-patients of a (small) Critical Access Hospital (CAH) at Northern Cochise Community Hospital (NCCH).

PT provides services that help restore function, improve mobility, relieve pain, and prevent or limit permanent physical disabilities of patients suffering from injuries or disease.

PT is responsible for creating an environment of patient-centered care through evidence-based standard. In collaboration with meeting required compliance with all state, federal, and local regulation laws, standards and protocols PT ensures adherence to Hospitals and departmental policies and procedures. PT must project a professional appearance and be well organized with strong critical thinking skills. Participates in performance improvement and continuous quality improvement (CQI) activities.

The Physical Therapist (PT) must possess strong qualities that instill trust and accountability for a successful outcome.

This position requires a commitment to teamwork, collaboration and department scheduling needs i.e. good attendance, attitude, customer services, communication skills, timely deadlines, etc.,

Supervision Required:

Works under the direct supervision of the Rehabilitation Services Manager/Physical Therapist (RSM/PT) or designated administrator.

Education and/or Experience:

Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy from an accredited college program in Physical Therapy required.

Master’s of Science Degree from an accredited college program in Physical Therapy required after 1990.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
  • § Current unrestricted Physical Therapist, license from the Arizona State Board of Physical Therapy Examiners, required.
  • § Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certificate (American Heart Association), required – must maintain current certification and recertify prior to expiration date.
