Job Description
  1. Build and develop a comprehensive Physical Therapy program.
  2. Enhance the functionality and skills of patients through targeted therapy.
  3. Evaluate and treat residents based on physician orders.
  4. Screen facility residents and complete necessary documentation.
  5. Participate in meetings and in-services, including family meetings, care planning, staffing, and utilization reviews.
  6. Collaborate with the Director of Rehabilitation to develop appropriate care programs.
  7. Follow infection control procedures and environmental protocols in compliance with OBRA Resident’s Rights Guidelines.
  8. Provide consultation and supervise PTAs clinically.
  9. Maintain valid state licensure and stay informed about professional issues.
  10. Schedule residents appropriately.
  11. Conduct family and staff in-services and educational sessions.
  12. Assist the facility in meeting state and federal certification standards.
  13. Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Required Skills
  1. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  2. Professionalism in all interactions.
  3. Strong time management and caseload management skills.
  4. Ability to supervise Physical Therapy Assistants per state regulations.
  5. Physical ability to perform job duties, including lifting up to 300 lbs, standing, sitting, squatting, stooping, reaching, stair climbing, walking, grasping, and fine motor tasks.
Qualifications
  1. Master of Science Degree or higher in Physical Therapy.
  2. Valid state licensure.
Desired Skills and Experience
  • Experience in senior living settings preferred.
  • Knowledge of PDPM and therapy software/EMR systems.
  • Understanding of Medicaid case mix.
