Job summary

Symbria’s Internal Travel Team is seeking licensed Occupational Therapists for full-time travel assignments that come with full-time benefits such as health insurance, PTO, continuing education, and more.

Travel assignments span our organization across PA, MA, CT, IL, IN, OH, MO, and WI. A monthly travel stipend accompanies a competitive salary, with potential relocation support after a year and opportunities to extend assignments.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Obtain patient background and essential evaluation data.
  • Assist supervising PT with evaluation data within scope of practice.
  • Modify goals and treatment plans to meet patient needs.
  • Discuss treatment plans with patients and families; document progress.
  • Administer PT programs and educate on body mechanics and safety.

Overview

Join Symbria’s Internal Travel Team! Are you a therapist looking for travel assignments but want the perks of a full‑time employee? Symbria is offering full‑time travel positions that come with full‑time benefits such as health insurance, PTO, continuing education, and more.

Travel assignments can be placed anywhere within our organization, and we operate in 10 states: PA, MA, CT, IL, IN, OH, MO and WI. We offer a monthly travel stipend in addition to a competitive salary.

Responsibilities
  • Obtain necessary background information from assigned patients’ charts.
  • Assist the supervising Physical Therapist in obtaining specific evaluation data within areas of established expertise.
  • Seek assistance from the supervising Physical Therapist when evaluation data falls outside of PT‑assistant experience.
  • Modify appropriate short‑term goals and select/adapt treatment techniques to meet established goals and individual patient needs.
  • Discuss treatment plans with patients and families as indicated.
  • Complete all required clinical and billing documentation and submit it in a timely manner.
  • Administer the prescribed physical therapy program to restore and maintain maximum function and prevent disability, using modalities such as therapeutic exercises, strengthening, balance, coordination, self‑care instruction, and education in body mechanics.
  • Adhere to Symbria Rehab’s mission, Code of Conduct, policies, and procedures.
  • Maintain productivity standards and fully utilize technology provided for documentation and client care.
  • Adhere to the terms of the travel assignment contract.
  • Be available and willing to travel to any location where Symbria provides contracted therapy services and provide own transportation between patient visits and assignments.
  • Perform any and all duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited school for Occupational Therapy.
  • Hold a valid registered license for Symbria’s operating states, or the ability to obtain a license or compact license to support assignments in any designated state.
  • If using a compact license, hold a full license in your state of residence.
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment, multi‑task, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent observation, verbal and written communication, problem‑solving skills, and basic math skills.
  • Effective interpersonal skills with a strong focus on customer service.
  • Proficient use of computers and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Experience in acute care, long‑term care, and/or rehabilitation (preferred but not required).
Travel Assignment Information
  • Assignments are based on 13‑week internal contracts. Once an assignment is complete, there may be an option to extend or be placed at another Symbria location. Terms of the contract are based on company and staffing needs.
  • Each assignment is eligible for a monthly living stipend based on location and travel.
  • Continuous assignments are guaranteed for one year. After completing a year of travel assignments, you may have the opportunity for relocation assistance to secure a permanent placement or continue as part of the internal travel team.
