Job summary

Iredell Health System seeks a Physical Therapist for its Hospital Based Skilled Nursing Unit in North Carolina. The role provides PT evaluations and therapy services as ordered by physicians, supporting patient recovery and function within a hospital setting.

The therapist will work Monday to Friday with rotating holidays/weekends, adhering to policies and standards, and may participate in orientation addressing care for pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients.

Qualifications

• CPR certification is required; if not currently certified must complete upon hire.
• Licensed in NC as a Physical Therapist or eligible for licensure.
• Orientation will cover age and population specific skills for pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients.

Responsibilities

• Conduct physical therapy evaluations and provide therapy services per physician orders.
• Assist patients in restoration of function and prevention of disability.
• Follow hospital policies, standards of practice, and regulations as directed by Rehab Director.

Position Location: Iredell Hospital Based Skilled Nursing Unit

Shift: M-F, Rotational Holidays/Weekends

Works independently to provide physical therapy evaluations and therapy services to patients as ordered by a physician, consistent with hospital policies and procedures, standards of practice, and regulations as directed by the Rehab Director of . Provides assistance to the patient in the restoration of function and prevention of disability following disease, injury, or loss of a limb. Has full access to patient health information. Position will be in Hospital Based Skilled Nursing Facility.

Requirements

• Currently licensure in NC as an Physical Therapist or state licensure examination eligible.
• CPR certification required. If not currently certified must complete upon hire.
• Successful completion of a competency based orientation which includes age and population specific skills for the area of practice in which the PT will be working, and addresses the growth and development needs for pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients.
• Work requires the physical demands of positioning, transferring, and lifting patients.
• Must possess full range of body motion to pass basic FIT test for position to include walking, kneeling, standing, pushing, pulling, bending, stooping, reaching and sitting for extended periods of time. Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
