Job summary

Mariner Healthcare is seeking a Physical Therapist to evaluate and treat residents and patients, alleviate pain, and restore function using exercise, heat, ultrasound, massage, and other modalities. The role includes maintaining records and educating patients on devices and home care. A CA-licensed PT with a B.S. or M.S. in Physical Therapy is required.

One year of clinical experience is preferred, and candidates must comply with state COVID mandates and be vaccinated.

• Requires a professional degree in Physical Therapy (B.S. or M.S.).
• Clinical experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and plan treatment for neuromuscular and musculoskeletal problems.
• Administer tests and measure muscle strength, ROM, and respiratory/circulatory function.
• Provide direct patient treatment per care plan and maintain records.
• Instruct patients and families on devices and home care.
• Conduct home assessments to support safe discharge.
• Complete forms and documentation per policy and regulations.

Job description

SUMMARY

Physical Therapist (PT) evaluates and treats residents and patients with temporary or long term physical disabilities to relieve pain, restore function, and promote healing by applying the therapeutic properties of exercise, heat, ultrasound, massage and other forms of treatment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Evaluates, plans and administers treatment to patients with problems related to neuromuscular and musculoskeletal systems.
• Administers and interprets tests and measurements for muscle strength, coordination, range of motion, and respiratory and circulatory efficiency.
• Provides direct resident treatment in accordance with an established plan of care.
• Instructs patients, families, and caregivers in the care and use of wheelchairs, braces, canes, crutches and other devices.
• Maintains patient records.
• Devises special tools and treatment for the specific needs of patients.
• Conducts home assessments as appropriate to ensure discharge of residents to a safe environment.
• Completes required forms and documents in accordance with company policy and state and/or federal regulations.

ENTRY QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor of Science or Master of Science degree in Physical Therapy.

• One (1) year of clinical experience preferred.

• Current license to practice Physical Therapy issued by State’s Board of Allied Health Professionals.
• Covid 19 vacine required
• Must be in compliance with the state of California Covid mandate

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

May provide onsite supervision to Physical Therapist Assistants, Rehab Aides, and provisional physical therapists per state practice guidelines.
