Select Specialty Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa is seeking a Physical Therapist (PT) for a full-time position with a Monday–Friday schedule in our inpatient post-ICU care setting.

You will perform initial and ongoing patient assessments, develop treatment plans, supervise PTAs and students, and contribute to discharge planning and quality improvements. We offer comprehensive benefits and a clinical ladder path.

Qualifications

• Current state licensure as a Physical Therapist required.
• BLS certification or completion within 90 days of employment required.

Responsibilities

• Perform initial and ongoing systematic patient assessment.
• Promote continuous quality improvement.
• Teach and counsel patients/families.
• Set goals and develop treatment plans.
• Work cooperatively to identify and solve patient-specific and facility-wide needs.
• Participate in discharge planning for each patient.
• Supervise Physical Therapy Assistants and PT/PTA students.
• Conduct individual patient therapy regimens.
• Monitor patient responses to treatment and modify as needed.
• Complete documentation according to department policies and procedures.
• Participate in departmental, hospital, and community continuing education seminars and in-services.
